Julian In the Fall

Camping in Julian in the Fall is just what my soul needed!

The first night it rained and it was extremely windy.  We were parked under an acorn tree which kept us up all night.  The acorns fell constantly and it was so loud.  We were so tired and there was nothing to do but laugh at the horrible luck.  The next morning Chris and I walked around the campground and decided to see if we could move spots.  Somewhere where we wouldn't be under an acorn tree! Thankfully we got the most perfect spot and slept well the remainder of our trip.

It was gorgeous and the cold weather could not have been more perfect.

A beautiful hike where we saw a bald eagle flying above us several times.  I had never seen one out in the open!

I think this was one of my favorite camping trips.  I can't wait to go back again in the Fall!

Our One and Only Summer Camping Trip

Sadly we only had one camping trip this Summer.  It was hard to find the time in-between the girls cross country practice, our trip to Kauia and other commitments we had already made.

Both girls reading!
Brooklyn found a book she wanted to read this Summer and I was very happy because she rarely reads anymore.

I love you beach camping trips!

I got the girls and I matching anklets

Camp nights

Why are teenagers anti pictures??

The next morning we woke up to clouds. It stayed cloudy the remainder of our trip but we made the best of it.

The girls needed to run so we started out all together and then Chris, Kayla and Brooklyn went off on their own to fun while I did a hike on my own.

I enjoyed taking my time and taking pictures.

I did not enjoy seeing the snake trails! When the girls and Chris got back I got to hear how Brooklyn wasn't looking ahead and Chris had to grab her to stop her from running directly into a rattlesnake that was crossing by.

After our morning workouts it was beachtime

Followed by dinner and Shake Shack malts/milkshakes

The next morning it was time for another run and even thought I didn't think I'd be going on another hike due to the rattlesnake possibilities I ended up going anyway.

Thankfully I made it through without seeing one but Kayla saw one on her way back.

Beach and books on our last day

Leaving is the hardest when I know it will be a year before I am back in my happy place!
