Another Christmas is over, it's always so bittersweet! Writing these posts and going through all of our pictures of celebrating is one of my favorite parts. It sometimes seems so daunting to go through all of my pictures but once I get them all on here I get to look back and see our Christmas in a bit of a different way. With the hustle and bustle in getting everything ready and making sure everything is perfect for the girls I sometimes miss the sparkle in their eyes or the pure magic of the moment. Pictures so perfectly capture these moments for me and I'm so thankful I have them all down to look back at for years to come! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Our Christmas eve starts out with a little special breakfast of donuts and hot cocoa.
I had a few items to prep for the big day and a dessert to bake. The girls kept busy by making their reindeer food to later sprinkle on the lawn before bed.
They ate their very last chocolate candy from their advent calendars
Brooklyn made sure our cat was as cozy as possible
Kayla set up shop under the tree to do some reading.
and the girls checked the Santa tracker throughout the entire day.
After I was done in the kitchen the girls decorated their Gingerbread houses.
Brooklyn and I matched in our Grinch shirts
Before we knew it it was time for our Christmas Eve feast.
YUM!
Checking on Santa before showers
Kayla blocking her sweet sisters kisses
Their favorite part of Christmas Eve, opening the first gift!
After playing a bit they sat down to enjoy a cookie and milk while we watched a Charlie Brown Christmas together.
Then daddy read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas
My heart could explode just looking at this picture!
Treats for Santa were left and Brooklyn wrote Santa a letter and left him some lotion because she was sure his hands were dry with all the cold weather.
Reindeer food was sprinkled on the front lawn
Goodbyes were said to Elfie
and just when I look at this girl and see a much too big girl I snap a picture and see that little girl still peaking through in that face!
Every year goes by too quick and maybe that's why I love Christmas so much because for just a short time we are all little kids again!

Simply love.
Merry Christmas week, Shannon!
I love that Brooklyn left Santa lotion...so cute. I like your traditional gingerbread house making on Christmas Eve.
Love the last picture of your family. It looks like it was a great night ..so hard to believe it's over!
