President's Week

The girls and I had the entire week off for President's day which was much needed because I was sick and definitely needed to get some rest. 

I was very bummed because the weather was gorgeous and I was too sick to go anywhere.  The girls were so cute reading to each other in the backyard that I decided to join them

Kayla was off to AstroCamp for two nights on President's day so the night before she left I told her I'd make her whatever she wanted for dinner.   She asked for chicken pot pie so that's what we had.

Not quite sure how she's old enough to be leaving for overnight school trips already.

We all said our goodbyes and then we took Brooklyn out to enjoy the day.  Thankfully I was feeling a lot better so we headed to the mall to let her spend some of her gift cards and then out to a late lunch.  She wanted to hold our hands while we walked around.   I love that she still holds our hands whenever we are out and about.

In San Francisco we ate at The Cheesecake Factory and we had avocado eggrolls as an appetizer.  Brooklyn loved them and had been talking about them ever since so she was very excited to be eating them again.

I love waking up to a day off and no place to be!

 Kayla's counselor sent a photo of my baby at breakfast.   The kids were not allowed to have their phones on them so we had no contact with them while they were gone.  It was a little hard at first not hearing from her and not knowing if she was having fun but after the first day it was fine.

Daddy was back at work on Tuesday so Brooklyn and I headed out to get some errands done and then went out to lunch.   She wasn't missing her sister at all!

Another morning breakfast photo on Wednesday.   Kayla would be coming home later in the afternoon and we couldn't wait to hear all about her trip.

We picked her up around four, she was exhausted but said she had fun.

She wouldn't admit that she missed me but she insisted I sit down and stop cleaning so she could sit right next to me while she played on her tablet. 

Having the week off from school and work meant I needed to get a lot done.  First up was cleaning the slipcovers!

I also painted and reupholstered both of the chairs below.

and after being sick I was happy to be able to get out and walk again.

The girls loved their lazy days and playing on the trampoline in pajamas of course.

They held a barbie fashion show for me to watch and judge.

They also got to hang out at their grandparents while we got our taxes done and enjoyed a night out.

Saturday morning I made breakfast before we took a walk up to the park.  We wanted to get some outdoor time in before the rain came in.

The girls played soccer while Chris and I walked a few laps around the park.

It was a cozy night in due to the rain.  

The next morning my father in law brought over his dog, Baxter for us to watch while he met some friends to wine taste.  Cali was not a fan of having Baxter over so she sat up on the ottoman most of the day.

It was a great day for a walk, so pretty outside and we could hear frogs everywhere while we walked along the nature preserve.

Back at home the girls played outside and tired out Baxter and themselves.  Before we knew it our week of being out of school/work was just about over.
