I can't believe we have been home for so long! Some days I feel like the days are the longest ever and then other days the hours seem to fly by and it's over before we know it. We are all pretty much used to our schedule as far as school work goes and the girls get it done right away so there is lots of time for them to do whatever they want for the rest of the day. For Kayla that usually means writing, drawing or reading. Brooklyn chooses to either draw, play with her barbies or read. The TV is rarely on anymore, we use it much less than ever before which is so strange because we are home more but I love that it is off and everyone is busy being creative instead. The weather has been perfect so there has been a lot of outdoor time and of course our daily walks.
The girls now take Tommy treats but he never eats them so they just bring them home for our cats instead.
Brooklyn loves listening to music! Her tablet is always playing music while she draws or writes.
Kayla is writing a book and has about fifteen chapters done so far.
Only two more days until we have an official teenager in the house!
Brooklyn is realizing Kayla is growing up and gets a little bummed that Kayla does not play with her as often so she has been my sidekick a lot lately. I've enjoyed having lots of one on one time with my littlest lately.
These two are still the best little buddies though!
Brooklyn set up some barbie scenes for us one afternoon. She is always a good source of entertainment in our home.
Another visit with Tommy
Chris got the job he interviewed for a few weeks back so a celebratory cocktail night was had
I will never get tired of our cozy, slow mornings being home together.
Our very favorite Mexican restaurant in town was giving out free bean and cheese burrito kids meals so we made sure to put in an order to pick up for lunch one day.
We were all so happy to enjoy this lunch!!!
I had to use up all of the leftover ham from Easter Sunday and making an easy make ahead breakfast dish is a great thing to wake up to on the weekend.
Another birthday in quarantine for a family friend celebrated with chalk notes on the driveway
A blanket fort for the kitty's made by Brooklyn
The girls were enjoying their weekend tablet time so I snuck out a small treat for us to enjoy alone.
Brooklyn insists on reading her school papers or artwork on a "stage"
A trip to Trader Joes still makes my heart happy and this particular trip was filled with lots of pink!
I visited a small nursery near our home which had next to nothing but I managed to bring home these purple flowers which filled my gardening void.
I aslo found the perfect spot for my hydrangeas from Trader Joe's
Kayla and I decided to soak up some sun together on the trampoline. We lasted about thirty minutes before we decided it was way too hot.
Lots of playing with the hose for Brooklyn the last few weeks.
Afternoon snack time
The day they declared they never want to go back to school because being home all day is much more fun.
Easy salads on a hot day are my favorite
followed by ice cream on the patio.
Sunshine and bike rides
I spent two days cleaning all the blinds, windows and washing curtains. Walking by clean bright windows makes all the difference!
Obviously times have reverted back to simpler times when Kayla spends days trying to catch lizards and after about a week of trying she finally caught one!
It hasn't stopped either, she's still catching them and sharing them with us.
Spraying the hose into the sky and taking cover together when it falls back on them.
Popsicle break
just too cool for words ;)
Brooklyn brought out her barbies all dressed up to have a photo shoot
Kayla said she wanted to make dinner so I found her the very first recipe I ever made on my own and put her to work.
She did a great job and she was so proud of her fettuccine alfredo dinner.
The next day Brooklyn made and delivered my lunch to me. Dinner made by Kayla the night before and lunch delivered to me the next day is not something I can complain about!

Congratulations to your happy s and on his new job! Funny you mentioned about the TV, I just mentioned to the kids yesterday that our TV is not on that much... other than a Gilmore Girls marathon that Isabella and o have been on.
as soon as boomers die off in mass, we millennials will vote for socialism. Within the next 5 to 10 years, as more and more of you boomers die off, we are going to turn America into a socialist country, and we are going to STOP giving 80 billion a year to Israel. Everything you boomers worked to create, we will destroy.
