Nutcrackers and Polar Express Night

 For the past seven years each Christmas the girls have painted a nutcracker.  My collection has grown quite a bit and although it's getting a little hard to find new ones every year I've made sure it happens.  I love these Nutcrackers so much, they are definitely my favorite decoration to pull out every year!

While they were hard at work I enjoyed some egg nog.

This year Kayla painted the purple nutcracker, she decided we needed a new color in the mix.  Brooklyn for some reason decided she wanted to draw the eyes on the nutcracker rather than use the stickers that they come with.  I think I prefer the stickers because the black eyes sort of creep me out but he's still cute!

My Christmas Treasures!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our Polar Express night has been going on for nine years.  Those tickets have a whole punch for every year we have gone and they still enjoy this little tradition.  It's changed obviously since we used to sneak their tickets into their beds to find as they climbed in but now they stay up later so that just wouldn't work.  Instead they now find it waiting for them on their bed or dresser when they walk into their rooms after their showers or they are handed straight to them.  We then pile into the car, with milk of course(they made sure I didn't forget the milk) and there is always some sort of snack waiting to be enjoyed while we drive around town to see all the lights.
All of our little traditions throughout the month of December are just some of what makes Christmas so special to me!
I absolutely love those nutcrackers! What a priceless treasure. Your Polar Express night is such a great idea! We took our granddaughter to the Polar Express train near us, that takes you to the North Pole. They serve cookies and hot chocolate, and Santa gets on the train and gives each child the 'first gift of Christmas' from the movie. We still hang the bell and our tickets on the tree each year. It was really fun but it's not something we could afford every year. Your tradition sounds perfect!
