Holiday Traditions

Every December we look forward to our holiday traditions.  This year Kayla could not wait for our trip to the Mission Inn.  Last year she found a cute used bookstore and she was excited to visit it again along with all the cute antique shops.  She loves finding books at either one and of course came home with a new read once again this year.

We always spend a few hours looking through all the shops and the girls pick up presents for each other, Chris or I along the way.

Everything is decorated for Christmas which makes it that much more fun.

We can't miss seeing the inside of the Mission Inn.

It is always gorgeous but this year was my favorite yet.  Pictures just didn't do it justice!

After hours spent shopping and looking at the decorations we always eat at a favorite nearby spot which just so happens to have the coldest beers in town and of course great food.  After a day spent at the Mission Inn we always leave with a little more Christmas spirit!

Another fun tradition is our Polar Express night.  The girls each find or now since they are older we usually hand them the ticket since we aren't about to wait until two teens find them before bedtime.  They know once they see that ticket to gather their blankets, slippers and whatever cozies they want because we will be driving around town to look at all the Christmas lights.

All ready to go!

There are snacks, drinks and everything we need to enjoy our trip around town.

I remember reading about your Polar Express Night last year and I was determined to do that with my family this year. But I completely forgot! I need to put it on my calendar in November 2023 to help me remember!

It seems every time I see your girls they look less like little girls and more like women. They're so beautiful!

I love a peek into your holiday traditions! Getting out and enjoying the season somewhere festive is one of our favorite things to do tooooo! I love shoppes all decorated and special lunches in cozy spots. Nothing is more festive! It's getting harder and harder to fit it in for our family (high school commitments, ugh!) But this year we did after Christmas and it was just as fun! Love your lights night too!
