December Recap

December was packed with fun and as usual went by way too fast!

The house was decked out for Christmas and this year I took my time decorating.

Brooklyn went to school with a different holiday headband almost daily.

She just makes me smile!

My favorite thing ever is being in the living room with the sparkle of a Christmas tree!

Our elf, Elfie arrived in early December.

Our morning walks got much prettier with all the changing leaves

The bar was stocked and decorated ready for the holidays

Chris's work has a white elephant gift exchange, and I was very happy with what he came home with!

Kayla got her driving permit!!!

I had to wake Brooklyn up for school one morning and I seriously gasped when I opened her bedroom door.  The Christmas tree lights on, her Santa sheets and she wanted her old Christmas duvet on this year which she hasn't used in years.  I immediately remembered her as a little girl when I saw all of this and I got teary eyed.   I had to take a picture of it all after she left her room.

I love our Christmas home!

I got a crafty this month and made a new lampshade with some fabric I picked up from Hobby Lobby.

Christmas crafting

Everyone trickles into the living room in the mornings during the month of December.

It was actually cold this entire month except for Christmas day of course.
I was very happy to have a real Winter for the other days.

There go the girls off to the park together.

I found a super easy bread recipe and gave it a try.

It was very good and I've made it a few times since.

Friday night appetizers before dinner.

Our community has a Winterfest every year.  This year we were very disappointed.  There was nothing fun for the girls or any kids at all.  We got our food and then walked back home.

Walking to work in the rain on my last day of working in 2022.  It actually ended up snowing this day and I was sooooo sad I was at work.  I took my break and stood outside in the cold for 15 minutes just watching it fall.

Porch ready for Christmas.

Cold mornings

Sweet neighbors dropped off some homemade pumpkin bread

A new burger spot with a fun bar opened up and Chris and I checked it out while we waited for the girls to get done with their track practice.

The last day of school before Winter Break!

Egg Nog cheers to 3 weeks off!

One of Brooklyn's friends brought over a present for her

Enjoyed all the holiday movies

Brooklyn and I got Starbucks while Kayla was at her first behind the wheel driving class.

Driving herself to practice

Apparently they were exhausted from cleaning, shopping, wrapping, cooking and baking all day!

a little treat for a neighbor

It was dinnertime and I went to get Kayla and found her completely asleep and again I had to capture the Christmas in her room.  I just love the tree lights on every night and how cozy their rooms look and can she never leave please!!

Baking day

Brooklyn helping me

Exhausted when I was done so I rewarded myself with some egg nog

Another gift for one of our neighbors

The day after Christmas I binge watched all of Emily in Paris, it was so good!  The girls were off enjoying all their new gifts and I had the tv all to myself.  It was a perfect relaxing day after a busy few weeks.

We ended the month of December celebrating my mother in laws birthday a few days before New Years eve.

All the cousins watching Coco together.
