October

Kayla had her induction ceremony welcoming her into the National Honor Society.

A little treat for my girls for the month of October.

Brooklyn sent me this text from school

It didn't look too bad from the pictures she sent me so I told her to just ice it and go to her class.  When she told me she couldn't bend it to write I decided to go pick her up and take her to urgent care.  When I got to actually see it from the side I could tell it was most likely broken.  I told her if she would've sent me a picture of this view I would've come right away.

Several hours later it was confirmed it was a broken finger.

I had told both the girls to be home Saturday night so we could have our annual scary movie night and boo-cuterie board but Brooklyn's boyfriend asked her to go to the Haunted Hay ride with him and his family.  She hates all things scary but I could tell she really wanted to go but she was worried aboiut being scared and didn't want to hurt my feelings.  I told her to go and even though she was worried about it being too scary I told her she needed to try new things.

I was bummed she was going to miss our family night but realized it's that time in their lives or them to spend more time with their friends/boyfriends.  She ended up having so much fun and was happy she went which made me happy as well.

The rest of us enjoyed our spooky night cozied up at home watching a scary movie.

One of the very few mornings where it was cold outside.

Chris came home with so many goodies for Boss' day this year.  We had no idea it was Boss' day in the first place.  His team of 18 took good care of him this year and the notes they wrote to him made me tear up.  He's such an awesome boss to them and it was so nice for him to feel appreciated.

Waking up to notes like this from Brooklyn making me chuckle in the mornings.  She's soaking her finger cast in soapy water.

I love an October full moon!

Kayla and I on our annual lunch and scary movie day date.

We're gonna have to figure out how we can do this next year if she goes away to college.

The girls decorated their skull cakes

Brooklyn was going through all my old Halloween costumes and came out in this one and asked who in the heck let you out of the house in a dress this short?  lol, I told her I was much older than she was when I wore it and not to worry about it.

Day date with my love, we tried out a new very pretty winery.

The girls went shopping and Brooklyn came home with Christmas pajamas she bought.  She was so excited to show them to me.

A boo basket for the girls from one of their friends.

Many doctor visits for this girl and her broken finger meant some one on one time with my baby.
