Kauai ~ The Last Full Day

Our last day in Kauai started with breakfast at Living Foods.  This spot is adorable, there is a market along with a restaurant.  The food is all fresh and healthy so I enjoyed eating here.

On this day we drove to see the Waimea Canyon.

There are a ton of hiking trails but you can also drive to certain spots just to enjoy the lookouts.  I'm not gonna lie but this day was my least favorite of the trip.  I felt like we had to see this but to be honest I didn't want to be there.  I wanted to spend the day on the north side of the island exploring more beaches.

We did the lookouts and then decided to do one easy hike which was not really worth it.  Kayla was mad because she wanted to do one of the harder hikes that led to a waterfall.  I being grumpy and annoyed we were wasting our day there in the first place did not want to do the three hour hard hike.

After the shorter hike we left and drove back towards the hotel.  I was still upset we wasted the day but we were going to turn it around and find some food and hopefully a pretty beach to spend the day on.

We ended up grabbing the best hot dogs we've all ever had at Puka Dogs.  The line was very long but it was worth it, so good and a must eat!!!

We went to the beach near our hotel and spotted a sleeping monk seal.  There are only about 1500 left in the world!!  We spent some time on the beach, in the water and watching a sea turtle playing in the waves.

We walked around a little shopping area later that evening.

The girls got ice cream

and of course we found some island cats we enjoyed loving on for a bit.

I was sad we were leaving the next morning and definitely would've loved to have atleast one more day there.  Kauai is such a beautiful and lush island and the beaches on the north side were gorgeous.  I would love to go back and see more of that part of the island someday.

Kauai Day 2 and 3

We were up very early on day two and were pretty excited because we were going on a Napali Coast Boat tour.  This definitely became the highlight of our trip.  The coast tour was gorgeous and our tour was fun and VERY adventurous!  We drove through waterfalls, went into caves, saw sea turtles and spinner dolphins.

After a long morning on the boat and in the sun we were tired and starving so we grabbed some lunch at the Kauai Brewing Co.

Lunch appeared to just make some of us more tired!

I made the executive decision to stop and get us coffee which just so happened to be at the cutest shopping spot.

Coffees and a little retail therapy

The rest of the day was at the pool.  Our day was so much fun but after the Dramamine and being up so early we were all still pretty beat.  I was sad to waste the rest of the day not out sightseeing, but relaxing poolside isn't so bad.

We woke up on day three and walked over to eat at Little Fish Coffee.  The lines for this spot are insane but since we slept in and didn't get there until 10ish we avoided waiting too long.  Their Acai bowls are so good, it was definitely a must eat spot.  You just need to watch out for the chickens because they will jump up on your table to steal your food.  Didn't happen to us but a lot of the other customers were having issues.

Brooklyn all prettied up for a day at the beach.

It was a slightly rainy day so we headed to Shipwreck beach to spend the day, it was beautiful!
The water was a bit to rough to play in so that was a bummer but it was pretty to look at.

How do we have only one year left with this girl?
Life truly does fly by

So thankful he loves to travel and is always ready to go wherever I come up with.

We spent hours at the beach and it was HOT and since we couldn't really cool down in the water because the waves were crazy and it was rocky we all wanted to go back to the hotel for pool time.  The girls actually decided to hang out on the patio so we ordered one a smoothie and the other a milkshake.  They were happy and we were happy with cocktails by the pool.

Later that night we got showered up and went to a yummy dinner.

Trying to get a good picture of us and of course the wind picks up when its our picture time.

Brooklyn thought our waiter was cute so we were teasing her throughout the night.

Kayla ordered a poke' bowl for dinner and it was not only beautiful but sooo good.

I ordered the Loco Moco which is a popular Hawaiian dish.  It was pretty good, definitely not something I would usually order but when in Rome.

After our dinner Chris and I tried for another picture but once again it was a fail.  Bad lighting

Sunset views were so pretty tho

Kayla once again ending her night on the phone with her boyfriend.

Our last full day coming up..
