Miraculous Movie Night

Brooklyn had been waiting all Summer for the Miraculous movie to be released on Netflix and she wanted a special movie night for it once it came out.  She has loved the cartoon for years and still watches it now and then so she was really excited they would be making a movie.   She came to me with a whole list of ideas on what we needed to eat and how she wanted it to look.  I took notes and added a few things here and there for her special night.

We ate at the coffee table in our usual movie night spots except this time the table was set nicely.  I added the Miraculous PEZ dispensers and fruit snacks I found on Amazon as a surprise.

She was very excited to find them.

The show takes place in Paris so we needed this French Soda.

We had no idea she was dressing up.  She even did all her make up themed.  I can't with her creativity, she always amazes me.

Dinner was simple pasta with bread, she said no to a salad so it was just pasta.

Dessert was a few french treats we found at Trader Joe's and World Market and she added the heart cookies because she loves them.  The movie was cute and it was fun setting up and making a regular Friday movie night just a little more special.

Later that night in her room I found a drawing she had done that morning of how she wanted her outfit to look.  If she could just never grow up that would be great!

A Rainy Night

What's a rainy cold night without a movie?
This past Wednesday when it was cold and rainy we ate soup, this soup which was delicious and everyone ate without complaining!
Then off the girls went for baths and got into their warm pj's so we could all curl up and watch a movie together.
With bowls of goodies, the fire was on, lights were off and candles were lit.
The movie started and all was quiet, always a perfect way to end the day.

Kayla's 1st Date

Kayla and Daddy have a date tonight,
dinner and a movie

Kayla got all dressed up and was very excited!
She couldn't wait to spend time with her daddy and see Cars 2.

I sent her on her way with a bucket full of Cars goodies.
a little race car,
Cars 2 gummy candies,
Cars washcloth,
and some new Shampoo for bathtime :)

Even though Brooklyn will be staying home with me she also got a little Cars bucket full of stuff!

I can't wait to hear all about her date with daddy!

So Much For Fall....

The heat here has been ridiculous!  It's been in the 100's since this weekend and doesn't look like it is going to be going down until the end of the week.  We have been staying inside the last couple of days but this past weekend we did a lot of playing outside in hopes of this being the ""last" of the heat because soon ( I HOPE ) we will be wearing jeans and sweaters everyday and eating soup for dinner!!

P.S.  Sunday night we had another Movie Night and watched the movie "The Tale of Despereaux"  if you haven't seen it, it is adorable.
Both of the girls loved it:)

Movie Night

Movie night is usually done when Daddy is gone and it's just Mommy, Kayla & Brooklyn but since we were going to Disneyland last Wednesday and Tuesday night there was a new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse movie on I thought it would be fun to watch to get us ready for our day at Disneyland.

This would also be Kayla's first time eating popcorn, which she told me before she went to bed, "Mommy I really Love popcorn".
I threw in some gummy caterpillars for some fun :)

Brooklyn got some Toddler snacks as well.  I was pretty surprised that she pretty much sat and watched the whole movie with us.

The best part of Movie Night is that everyone actually sits and quietly watches the movie and when it's over there is no argument about bedtime!  I am thinking this is something that we will be doing more often :)
