Happy New Year

New Year's Eve was spent at home with a cozy appetizer dinner.

The girls played some video games and then we watched the New Years shows before I headed to bed

Chris and I were in bed before midnight, I think the girls stayed up.  

The next day we headed out to Palm Springs to my father in laws for a New Years Open House.

We snacked, we mingled we enjoyed more drinks.

Happy New Year!

 

This year we spent New Years Eve at home, just us and it was exactly how I like it!  My roses from Christmas day were just barely hanging on.

It was a rainy night so it was perfect for a cozy night in.

Chris and I started off with a favorite cocktail, him a whiskey and me an old fashioned.

The girls got dressed up a bit.  Brooklyn strongly believes my closet is hers and very often just comes out wearing my clothes.  Sometimes I say no way I really like wearing that, take it back and sometimes I just let her.  This night I let her wear one of my favorite dresses because she looked so cute!

A fancy night of appetizers and finger foods for dinner while we spent hours playing Table Topics.  This is such a fun thing to do and we always spend a lot of time talking about each one, highly recommend for your family.   

After dinner the girls really wanted us to all play Just Dance.  They've been begging for a family night playing this so we gave in.  It was fun and I was a bit excited to come in first even if it only happened once!

The rest of the night we played card games and waited for midnight.  I think it was the first year we all four of us were at home and ALL stayed up 'til midnight.

The next morning I made breakfast and then we headed out to Palm Springs for a New Years day party at my father in law's

It's always fun at his parties, lot's of new people to meet and mingle with and it was so nice to see the sun after days of rain and cloudy skies at home.

Hello 2022

Hello 2022!

We celebrated New Years Eve with a party at our house this year.

It was something that was decided on a whim the week of Christmas so all of the decor was either purchased from Amazon or Target online because after Christmas the last thing I feel like doing is going shopping!  Food was also very simple with items I could easily make ahead of time and a ham that could just be thrown in the oven so I could enjoy the party.

These two were excited and if I'm being honest this party was for them!  They wanted to be up with friends all night and I would have been happy in pj's for the night ;)

One of our friends was working so the kids photoshopped him in but he got to come after midnight to join the fun

More friends stopped by thirty minutes before midnight and the original three were reunited!

There were sparklers, fireworks, lots of drinks and too much fun!  Friends didn't leave until 4am!!!!  I know I was exhausted, I put myself to bed around 3:45 because I was ready hours ago.  All in all it was a fun night and I said it last year and I'll say it again, I still love being home in pajamas ringing in the New Year just the four of us but I'm sure I'll be out celebrating again way too late come next New Years Eve!
