O' Christmas Tree

Friday evening we went and picked out our Christmas tree.

We tried our usual Home Depot which was a huge dissapointment in selection.

They barely had any trees and the ones they did have were dead so we headed over to a Nursery that is around the block from our neighborhood where we found the perfect tree for our home.

After daddy got all the lights up on the tree and we ate our fast and very healthy dinner from Wendy's ;)

We got to decorating!

Brooklyn did her best to place one ornament on but mostly just wanted to hug the ornaments.

I'm beginning to think she has a thing for snowmen.

Kayla on the other hand changed her mind often on where she wanted her ornaments to go.

After maybe 10 minutes of helping they were on to bigger and better things.
.
They found that running around,

playing under the dinning room table

or

dancing around to the Christmas Carols

was much more fun.

So daddy and I were left to decorate on our own.

Usually we decorate our home in reds and greens and by the 2nd week of December I am ready to take it all down.

I am not a fan of the color red so I thought that if we took a simpler approach to decorating using more greenery with silvers and whites I might not get sick of it so quickly.

We still have a hints of red here and there, after all Santa is dressed in a red suit!

But I am loving the lighter colors and really like the way the tree turned out.

I think we will slowly be adding more ornaments in natural colors throughout the years from now on  :)
