Breakfast with Santa and an Outstanding Achievement Award

In the middle of a busy Christmas weekend I wanted to drop in and be sure to share some updates on little Ms. Kayla.  A few weeks ago she performed at her school for their Breakfast with Santa.  It was short and quick with only two songs and then afterwards they were able to line up to meet with Santa.  By the time we got in line we realized we would be waiting for far too long and luckily talked the girls into heading over to the mall real quick instead to meet with Santa.  This worked out much better, we didn't have to wait and everyone was happy!

This past Friday Kayla received an Outstanding Achievement Award.  She is doing so well in school and we could not be more proud of her.  She has developed a love of reading and we can often find her curled up with a book in the same chair everyday.

A little quote on what her teacher had to say about her,
"Kayla is an all-around amazing 1st grade student.  She always keeps her pyramid up(a good behavior pyramid)!  She has also been reading and passing 2nd grade chapter books on AR, Wow!"

We are so proud of you Kayla!!

I truly believe that there is no better gift you can give a child than a love of reading!
