Birthday Weekend

Last weekend we celebrated my husbands birthday with a kid free weekend.  They were excited to go to their grandparents for a weekend away and we were excited to have some adult only time.   With covid it had been a very long time since we have gone out without the girls or had they stayed over at the grandparents.

After we dropped the girls off we stopped by a brewery for the night.  It just so happened to be the hottest weekend of the Summer and since all of California is now "eat outside" because of our wonderful governor we were melting.  We didn't stay too long because it was just too darn hot.

Saturday we drove out to Temecula to our favorite winery.  It was going to be another HOT day but we needed to pick up our wine shipment and we were going to make the best of it.

We ordered a pizza to split and a couple glasses of wine to enjoy.  We were there for maybe two hours but once again it was just too hot.   We were a little bummed that the one weekend we had to go out and about was way too hot to be outside everywhere.

We decided to go home and open a bottle of wine to enjoy where there was air conditioning!

I also put together a little snack tray for us and we watched The Godfather, which I had never seen!

Being at home watching a movie is always a great night for me.

The hot weather was a bit unfortunate but overall we enjoyed our weekend with just the two of us.   Sunday was Chris's actual birthday so after we brought the girls back home we celebrated some more with presents, meatball subs for dinner and a chocolate peanut butter ice cream cake I had made earlier.

Not only did Chris and I have a great weekend but so did the girls.

They swam with their cousins, got pedicures, ate delicious food and played games with their grandparents.

Brooklyn is the ultimate sandwich maker and got to show of her skills to her noni who is also an amazing cook.

Kayla helped her papa in the garden picking fruit and now that the girls are into skateboarding he was excited to share all of his skateboards with them.

I was so happy they got to have some extra time with them and their cousin Tessa who made her mom bring her over everyday to get in lots of time with her cousins!

Happy Birthday to your guy!!!!!
Looks like a great weekend.
The summer Steve and I were married was soooo hot!
We had a little apartment with no air conditioning. I remember we drug our mattress out into the living room, opened the windows and watched all the Godfather movies!!!
