Anniversary Camping Trip

The last week of August we celebrated our sixteen year wedding anniversary with a camping trip to the beach.   The first evening on the beach was gorgeous.   The weather was perfect and the sun hitting the water was so pretty.   We were having a wonderful time.

It was perfect until Kayla got stung by a stingray and in the midst of jumping away she also popped out her kneecap.   Needless to say she was in a lot of pain but since Brooklyn had already been stung a few years back we knew exactly what to do to make the pain from the sting go away.

An hour and half of soaking her foot in extremely hot water and icing her knee was how Kayla got to spend her first evening camping.  Brooklyn did a great job at keeping her company.

By dinner she was feeling a whole lot better.

The next morning we took it slow and Kayla iced her knee a little more before we got ready to go down to the beach.

Her knee was still a bit sore so she hung out on the sand with me, she read a bit and we watched Brooklyn and daddy play games.

Eventually it got hot enough outside that even I wanted to go in the water!

We ended the day with S'mores and Sunsets

Brooklyn was too busy skateboarding to come watch the sunset with us.

These two are together the moment they wake up

We ate our breakfast down on the beach and then explored a bit

Brooklyn made a giant hopscotch

After some time down on the beach Daddy left to go on a run while the girls and I played cards

It was our 16 year anniversary on this day.

and relaxing on the beach and watching the girls playing was the perfect way to spend the day.

Kayla and Chris went out to catch some waves.

This girl,

After all day on the beach we showered and went out to dinner.

Yummy Mexican food and drinks was the perfect way to end our anniversary

The next morning while Chris and I were packing everything up the girls made us all sandwiches to eat on the way home.
