Halloween 2020

Halloween was different this year as we knew it would be.   Since it was going to fall on a Saturday I had big plans originally for the day but things changed and I decided to just go with it.   I sort of let the girls choose what they wanted to do this year because lets face it they've been through a lot in the last seven months and I just really wanted to make sure they had fun!

Kayla's friends were getting together and having a sleepover and Brooklyn wanted to also go over to a friends house so this was going to be our first Halloween where we would not be home or all together.   We instead celebrated during the day a little and had the girls carve their pumpkins.

Kayla decided that carving pumpkins is the most boring activity there ever was and quit after she was almost done letting daddy finish her creation instead.  #teenager

Their pumpkins came out cute regardless.   Brooklyn's is a symbol from Avatar, The Last Airbender.  It's a show she is absolutely obsessed with!

After the pumpkin debris was cleaned up I set out snacks to enjoy while we watched Frankenweenie

I picked up the Butterscotch Beer from World Market and the girls both said it was delicious.

Costumes were on and the girls were ready to have some fun with their friends.

Brooklyn was a clown but didn't want to wear the mask so she instead instructed how she wanted her face to look and Kayla was a dragon again.

Around five o'clock we headed over to Kayla's friends house.   We stayed a few hours and hung out with the parents and enjoyed seeing the kids all dressed up.

When we were leaving they were beginning to carve pumpkins.

Sunday morning Kayla told us she had so much fun, they went trick or treating and stayed up all night watching scary movies and talking!  Perfect teen Halloween night if you ask me.

A quick last picture of the girls together before we headed to our next stop.

Our next stop was actually friends of ours and Brooklyn has known their kids since they were born plus one of her good guy friends lives next door to them so she was happy to have her buddies to hang out for the night.

We took the kids trick or treating in their neighborhood and then they played outside and handed out candy to a very few trick or treaters while us adults were having just as much fun!

Before we knew it it was almost 1am!
We were hungry so stopped and picked up Canes chicken on the way home, ate and then Brooklyn went through all her candy before we told her she needed to get to bed.

I can't believe we were up til 1:30 and that the night turned out to be soooo much fun!   We were exhausted Sunday but it was well worth the fun Halloween we had the night before!
