Leo Carrillo Camping

Two days after the fourth of July we headed out to the beach to camp.  This was a new spot and we were excited to see what we were in for.

Our spot was pretty and we were just a short walk to the water.

The beach was beautiful!

The girls were not fully on board because there was no signal for their phones and they were bummed they could not text their friends which I told them just makes me love this place even more.

Full on family time with no phone interruptions for four nights straight, yes please!!

We got in some bike rides, game time and lots of beach time.  It was almost a perfect trip if we had better neighbors!  We had a big group of kids that were very loud.  We have been camping for years and have had very few bad neighbors.  We made the best of it and had many laughs at the situation and carried on.

This kid was given these sunglasses from her orthodontist.  They were having a competition this Summer to have the kids post pictures of themselves in these sunglasses during their Summer travels and they would pick two winners at the end of the Summer.   Kayla kept forgetting about the sunglasses but finally packed them for this trip but when she pulled them out of her bag she realized they had broke.  She came in to show me right before bed and was cracking herself up.

She is just so fun, I love this girl!

Brooklyn gave Kayla and I foot massages and it was quite wonderful!

Evening bike rides with your bestie

Our second full day there we drove to another beach which ended up being my very favorite.

It just wouldn't be Summer without campfires and s'mores.

Leo Carrillo beach is often used to film movies, shows and commercials.   While we were there they were setting up to film a new HBO series called, Our Flag Means Death.  It was fun watching them set up throughout the few days we were there.

We spent some time exploring the rocks and caves and it was so beautiful.

Then we went down to the beach.

On our last night we drove into Malibu to grab sushi for dinner.

After dinner we rode our bikes down to the beach to catch our last sunset and capture a few more beautiful pictures.
