Our 2nd Weekend of December

It was the last school day until 2020 and I was ready.   I grabbed my cup of coffee to enjoy my favorite view sipping happily because after today we would be off for the next three weeks for Winter break!!

We dropped off Kayla at school and then Brooklyn and I headed to her school.  I was helping out in her class for her Grinch Christmas party

A few other moms and I set up the classroom while the kids were out having an ornament exchange.

When they came back in they got to decorating their Christmas trees.

They ate a ton of sugar and sang Christmas carols.  It was just what I needed to get me in the holiday spirit.

Friday night we took the girls over to my father in laws while us adults enjoyed a date night.  Brooklyn was super excited she finally got to meet her papa's puppy, Baxter.

Saturday we woke up to lots of fog and much cooler weather which was perfect because it was our communities Winter Wonderland.  The girls were pumped to head to the park and find out that the sledding hill was even bigger and better than the years passed.

We all LOVE this event!
There is snow, Christmas carols playing, cookie decorating, hot cocoa, snow ball fights, sledding and kids everywhere smiling from ear to ear.

This year they even added lunch so we all enjoyed a delicious pizza roll from a yummy food truck.

After we ate and some hot cocoa the girls found some friends.

These two broke the sled

Candy canes for the walk back home.

Back at home I got to baking sugar cookies for the girls' upcoming cookie decorating party.  The girls helped out and did the cookie cutting so I could get some sauce ready for our dinner.

Thankful for a slow Sunday morning!

I had to bake some more cookies because the first batch was definitely not going to be enough so back in the kitchen I went.

These two played Monopoly instead of helping this time.

Later on the girls painted their Nutcrackers

She might be smiling but she was not happy about having to paint so I told her it was fine and next year she will not have to do it anymore....teenagers are a blast by the way.

Two more to add to our collection!

Sunday evening ended with some Christmas movies of course.
Yay for the next three weeks off!
