Easter ~ Just the Four of Us

Brooklyn woke us up a little after six because one of the cats apparently had a mess on her hind legs that needed to be cleaned up.  So her and I were up giving a cat a bath first thing in the morning which was not exactly how I wanted to start off Easter Sunday but that's life.  After that mess was taken care of and the girls were back in their rooms waiting we walked around the house and made sure curtains were opened, took some pictures and filled up mugs with coffee before calling the girls in to see what the bunny had filled their baskets with.

After their baskets were torn apart and emptied out they were ready for the egg hunt.

Shots of jelly beans were being taking before they even ate breakfast!

Brooklyn played with her playdough while she waited for her bunny bread to be heated up.

My mother in law dropped off her orange glazed bunnies on Saturday and we all decided it would be a perfect and easy breakfast.

We were all bummed that the entire family would not be joining us this year for Easter but I made sure to keep it as close to how we would celebrate if everyone was here.  I didn't want it to feel like just another day so I told everyone the party would start at one and I still set out appetizers, lit candles and played music just as I would've if the extended family was coming over.

I set a pretty table and we ate our usual Easter dinner of ham along with a few favorite side dishes.

The girls got dressed,

and our party was ready to begin.

The girls and I had a quick champagne and sparkling lemonade toast.

We played games the entire time and had a lot of fun.

Even though it was not our normal Easter celebration we still managed to have a really good time together.  I'm glad it wasn't as bad as I thought the day would be, I was worried we would be sad but we made the best of it and were just happy that we were able to atleast celebrate even if it was just the four of us!

It looks like you had a nice day just the four of you. We had a nice day as well but is was strange. It's usually a busy day for us between visiting my parents and then going to Rays family's big Easter celebration
I love the butterfly plates you used for your dinner.
Hope you are all doing good.
