Last week we took a family vacation to Scottsdale, Arizona. We left on Wednesday and stayed until Sunday. You can see my Ten on Ten post here for our travel day. Thursday we woke up and enjoyed a slow morning. I completely enjoyed my daily coffee in bed each morning.
Brooklyn nagged and nagged us to get ready to go to the pool so we finally got ourselves together and headed down to the pool outside of our room which had a beach entry.
We ordered some drinks and we're ready to vacation!
We stayed at that pool for a little while before heading over to the kids pool which had two water slides.
Brooklyn spent the rest of the day riding the slides and we only caught glimpses of her going down and then walking back up the stairs to get in line. She loved it! Kayla spent the day hanging out with both Brooklyn and us. She was so cute wanting to spend time with us as well as her sister. I really saw a difference in her personality this trip as far as being more mature.
After all day at the pool we got dressed to go to dinner.
We were excited to try out the resorts Mexican restaurant because the food at the resort had great reviews but when we arrived they said we needed reservations. It would have been nice if we were told that when we checked in! We couldn't even make reservations for the other nights because they were booked. We were a bit grumpy about the situation but eventually found a Sushi place which ended up being delicious and I'm sure it was much cheaper than eating at the resort so it was a win!
We all complained during quarantine about how much we missed eating Sushi so we were very excited to be here!! We actually went back to eat here again on our last night because it was that good.
After Sushi we grabbed some custard for dessert. So much better than any ice cream! Wishing we had a Freddy's Frozen Custard in California.
Friday we decided to head out do some shopping but first we needed breakfast.
Breakfast was also delicious and the spot was super cute.
After we drove over to Old Town Scottsdale to look around and then went to the Scottsdale mall.
These girls were loving the fact that they were able to shop in a mall again. They both happily bought some items from the Van's store.
When we got back to the resort we quickly changed into swimsuits and headed back to the pool.
Cocktails of course!
This was a Cocojito and I will surely miss this drink from here on out.
We were at the pool late this night so we decided to order pizza from a nearby spot for dinner. The girls set up a little picnic and we watched The School of Rock while we ate. Our pizza didn't arrive until 8 o'clock but it was well worth the wait. The food we ate on this trip was all soooo good!
Saturday was our last and final day and the girls decided they wanted to start out the day at the kid pool so they could get in a lot of water slide time. After a couple of hours we walked over to another pool and spent the remainder of our time there.
That night we showered and went back to get Sushi. After dinner we hung out in the room for a bit before we went back to one of the pools to watch their movie by the pool and wait for the fireworks.
They were playing Toy Story 4 and the firework show did not disappoint. I was happy to see the fireworks since our city will not be having fireworks this year for the fourth so it was nice to get my firework fix here in Scottsdale.
Sunday morning we were packed up and on the road to head home. It was so nice to get away for a few days and relax. It wasn't quite as good as it would have been if we were actually in Hawaii as planned but I'll take it after the last few months we've all had.

What a fun trip for your family! So glad you were able to get away and have that memory!
Wow, that's quite a resort! But yeah, there's probably no comparison to Hawaii! Glad you had a good time though.
