2021 Summer Fun List and Universal Studios

Last week the Summer Fun List went up and the girls were both just as excited as ever to see what fun was ahead for the next few months.

Kayla found it first and since she is a teenager this is the face I get whenever I try and take her picture

She said she's most excited for the baseball game and Catalina Island.  She was hoping to go to Catalina with her school but due to Covid that did not happen.

Brooklyn found the list after she got home from school

and just like Kayla she was excited to see Catalina Island on the list and a baseball game.

This year there was also a card waiting for them to read together.

It let them know how proud we are of them and how they have handled everything in the last year and since we decided to not have a party this year for their graduations we instead had a fun day coming up to celebrate them.  They spent the next few days begging us to tell them where we were going but they had to wait.

It was only a few days before they would find out that we would be spending the day at Universal Studios!

They were both very excited when we arrived.  Kayla had gone a few years ago with a friend and had been talking about how fun it was and wanted to go back and of course Brooklyn wanted to go too so we thought it would be a fun family day.

It was not very crowded at all but the lines for the rides were ridiculous!  The restrictions they had made our wait for most rides over two hours!!

Butter Beer!

The wait for the rides was a deal breaker for me and there really isn't much to see and do there.  I would of rather of spent the money at Disneyland but I'd pick Disneyland over anywhere.  The girls really liked Universal and had lots of fun.

Brooklyn is not a fan of scary or rollercoaster rides but we got her on The Mummy ride which we both HATED!  After that ride she was done trusting Kayla on what rides to go on so my little buddy and I took off on our own.

we grabbed a churro and then checked out the shops

My favorite thing of the day was the detail in the Hogwarts shops! Everything was so perfect.

Kayla and her daddy were off waiting forever to go on another ride

while we chose to spend our two hours waiting for the Minion ride!

Love this weirdo!

We stayed until 8 and then left and ate a yummy dinner in Citywalk before heading home.  Like I said before it was not my favorite and I have no reason to go again but the girls really enjoyed their day so that is all that mattered.  As long as it was a good time to them!!!
