The Weekend Before Christmas

Friday the girls got out early and when I picked up Brooklyn she came walking up to the truck with bags full of presents from her friends and carrying a turkey!  Her school had their turkey trot which consists of obstacles for the kids that qualify have to go through.  Brooklyn was in the top five 6th grade girls that won so she came home with a turkey!

I spent my Friday afternoon getting some baking done, partly for Christmas day but also for us to just have some cookies to eat over the weekend.

Saturday was our community Winter Fest.  Last year it was canceled but this year it was on and Brooklyn was looking forward to a day of sledding, cookies, hot chocolate and hanging out with some friends.

I love the icing melting down this girls hands.  If there was ever a perfect picture of what it's like to eat as Brooklyn this would be it.  She's always a mess when she eats.

She had so much fun!

While daddy took Brooklyn, I stayed home with Kayla.  She didn't want to go since she wouldn't be able to participate since her knee is still healing she decided she would rather hang at home.  I didn't want to leave her all on her own and she had been telling me about a show she wanted me to watch with her so we spent the day binge watching the Netflix show, Dash & Lily.  It was adorable and a Christmas show so it was perfect!

Sunday afternoon we headed to the Mission Inn.  We did some shopping and Kayla was super pumped to find a used bookstore!

We had to make her leave!

I loved these cute decorations but the price not so much!

She found more books at an antique store and was excited to purchase a new to her Stephen King book.

The Mission Inn is so beautiful at Christmastime!

After a lot of walking around we headed to Heroe's to grab the coldest beers around and some dinner.

We can't believe we are only five more sleeps until the big day but we are ready!

What a fun weekend before Christmas! (I probably say this every other post but I can't get over how grown up your girls are!)
