January

 2022 began with us cleaning up the mess from the night before.  We were all tired but the girls were the best and pitched in and helped clean the house.

I cleaned a bit, made tea some tea, watched some movies and took a nap.  Not a bad way to start the year.

January 2nd was my birthday!

I woke up to lots of gifts from the girls and Chris along with a couple left behind on Christmas for me to open on my special day.

Brooklyn painted me this beautiful Winter scene!

I loved every single gift I received!

After a very slow and relaxing morning Chris and I went on a long walk!

After we came back I showered and enjoyed looking through my new design book.

Later that evening we went to dinner at a favorite sushi spot but first Kayla and stopped in at Ulta to pick up a few things.

These people keep me sane in this mess of a world!

This year we did exactly what I wanted to do on my birthday and it was perfect.  After the busy holidays I really wanted to just be home and relax for my day.

While the girls were on Winter break we took a day and went to the movies to see West Side Story and do some shopping.

Cozy comfort meals are the best.

Eventually Monday arrived and reality was back.

I had too much fun stocking up on all of the Valentine's day goodies

We spent a Sunday celebrating Chris' uncles 70th birthday.

The girls had fun hanging out with their cousins, it was a fun day with family.

Brooklyn spilled cheerios so she created some art with them instead of cleaning them up.

January is such a slow month, we spend so much time at home and I don't hate it at all.

Chris and I were out doing yardwork and I spotted the bluebells popping up.

All rose bushes are cut back and ready for Spring

Brooklyn is always creating fun and festive snacks for herself.  Here she dipped some strawberries in yogurt and then added some sprinkles.

I was home from working all day and these poor kitties looked exhausted from their day of doing nothing.

I'm pretty sure January was windy every day!  We made sure to walk atleast 5 days out of the week anyway even if it was freezing.

Santa brought the girls The Office Clue game and we had blast playing it one Saturday night!

Kale might just be the easiest green to grow!

We cut it all back to use in a delicious soup.

We spent our last weekend of the month enjoying home.   A Sunday football game to end the weekend before February began and filled our calendar with a ton of things.
