San Antonio, Texas Part 3

Our last full day in San Antonio was COLD!!

We had rented a car for this day and decided to walk a couple of blocks to pick it up but that was before we realized it was only 30 degrees!  To say we were freezing was an understatement.  We made it eventually and then made the drive out to our destination but stopped to grab breakfast at Starbucks.  30 degrees and our girls still ordered cold drinks and then complained about how cold they were!!!

Today we would be walking 180 ft below the earths surface to explore the Natural Bridge Caverns.

Our entrance

One last family selfie of us freezing before we headed in.  Thankfully it is always 70 degrees inside the caverns and we couldn't wait to feel that warmth.

Everything was beautiful and honestly it looked fake.  These caverns were discovered by four college students just out exploring and seeing the very small cave they went down was surreal.

The water was so clear!

The climb up was steep but this was overall an amazing and beautiful experience!

We had originally planned to stay where we were for the day because they had lots of other outdoor activities but due to the weather, it was supposed to start snowing soon, the other activities were not open.  Yesterday we were in shorts enjoying 87 degrees, this day we were bundled up in 30 degrees.

We drove back closer to the river walk and since we had the rental for the day we decided to drive over to the Smoke Shack for a late lunch early dinner.  A local recommended this spot when I asked him where we could get the best BBQ and let me tell you it was definitely the best!  Everything we got was amazing!

After we drove to a nearby Brewery and tried some local beers.

Then back to the hotel to warm up and Chris and I enjoyed a night cap at the bar to end our last night in Texas.

We were up and packed up by nine so we could grab breakfast at the hotel before we headed to the airport.  Brooklyn always with the fruity drinks.

It was another very cold day so we waited inside for our car.

We were sad to leave but happy to go home!

We had a layover where we grabbed dinner before heading on home.  We had such a great time in San Antonio.

I love traveling with these people!
Can't wait to explore some place else soon.

I went back and read the other 2 posts, what a great trip! You got to do so many things and see some interesting places. We've been to Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico and the inside looks a lot like the one you visited. The rodeo, the museums... so much fun! Glad you guys had a great time!
