Before school ended Brooklyn's school had their end of the year sixth grade awards. We knew she was receiving one award but had no idea she would be coming home with three!
At the end of the year each teacher gets to choose one girl and one boy from each of their classes that they believe deserves an award for the entire school year. Brooklyn got an award from her P.E. class and from her English and Social Studies class. We were so happy for her. What we didn't know is that she would also be receiving the Principal's Award. This is an award given out to only four students from the sixth grade. All of the sixth grade teachers nominate one of their best students and then the principal chooses who deserves it most. To say we were blown away that our girl received one of these awards is an understandement. We are beyond proud of how amazing Brooklyn has done in school this year and grateful that she loves to learn so much!
Below is the speech they gave before they called Brooklyn up on stage to receive her award. Her face when she got called up for this award was priceless. She was bright red and we could tell she was shocked she was one of the four to receive this.
Also the write ups from her P.E. teacher and English, Social Studies teacher.
The last day of school she came home with another award from her Leadership teacher. He had been absent and said he really wanted to hand this award to her himself so he held on to it. His write up brought me to tears.
That's four awards!
We know this girl is amazing but seeing that others see what we see and know is always reassuring!
At pick up we surprised her with a Starbuck's and she was thrilled.
So unbelievably proud of our girl!
