Parker River Trip

The very first day of Summer we headed out to the river.  We were all ready for a weekend full of some fun in the sun.

As soon as we arrived swimsuits were put on and the girls got to work carrying the toys down to the boat.

Off we go!

Yay for Summer!

After a few hours on the water we cleaned up and went out to dinner.  Below is the couple's house we stayed out, they are close friends with my inlaws and have been two of my favorite people on earth since I met them sixteen years ago.  They are so sweet and so much fun!

We had an early wake up call and were on the water by 7am.  Kayla wanted to learn to water ski and the best time to learn is early in the morning when nobody else is out.

Glass like water untouched in the morning is so beautiful!

Kayla tried and tried and tried but never got up eventually she was beat and needed a break.  She learned pretty quick it is a lot harder than it looks!  My father in law has been skiing for years so he took advantage of the perfect conditions.

Kayla thought maybe wake boarding will be easier?

It wasn't!

Chris hasn't wake boarded in years so he was happy he's still got it.

The girls and their noni

Brooklyn had no interest in learning to water ski or wakeboard so Jimmy taught her how to drive the boat instead.

She loved it and pretty much drove us all weekend.

Love fun weekends with this guy

After a few hours on the water we went back to house to eat breakfast and then went back down to the boat for more fun.

Summers with my best girlfriends

Family cool off in the water

Stopped by the bar on the water for some cocktails and snacks.

Jimmy made sure the girls got their own dollar bills on the wall.

There they are waiting for them to come back and find them for here on out.

After all day on the water we came back, cleaned up and ate a yummy dinner.  We did a little early Father's day gift exchange with my father in law and then later that night played some card games.

Our last day we were back on the water early so my crazy father in law could wakeboard wearing a cowboy hat and his ripped up jeans.

He was aiming to recreate the Chattahoochee music video.

It's never dull with my in laws ;)

Chris's turn to wakeboard again but this time Brooklyn would be driving the boat.

Pretty cool

It wasn't he's smoothest ride but she's only 13 and learning, haha

Chris and his stepdad

We headed up river so we could just float back and relax but the boat broke down once we got there.  So we actually did get to float back while the boys worked on fixing the boat.  Chris was in heaven and knew exactly what to do and got us running again.

Stopped by a cute shop to check out and Jimmy showed us a cute spot he brings his grandkids to play in the water and then I had to get a picture of our two boat captains together.

"mom can we take a .5 picture with your camera?"

Time to head back to eat

"Mom, can you stop taking pictures I can't see where I'm going!!"

After we ate we got in one more trip on the water

This time it was the two daredevils on the raft together.

Thrown off over and over again at full speeds and Kayla was laughing hysterically each time ready to go again.  Meanwhile I'm quietly praying on the boat each and every time!

Beautiful

Soon enough it was time to head back to pack everything up and head home

A perfect weekend to kick off our Summer!

What a fun summer trip! The water looks amazing -- although I would have swam in it - not skied on it!!! HA! So brave! Glad you could go and make amazing memories!
