Halloween

Only Chris and Brooklyn carved pumpkins this year.

Look at these two getting down to serious business

They turned out great!
Brooklyn's is on the left and Chris' is on the right

It wouldn't be Halloween without Mummy Meatloaf

I set the table for a fun dinner since we were actually all eating together. Something rare when the girls usually have other activities going on now.

A few nights later it was Skullzone night.

I ran to the grocery store on Halloween morning and found this cute candlebra marked half off so it came home with me.

I baked mummy brownies for the night. The girls were having some of their friends over to go trick or treatin'

We had nachos and some sweets out for them

Brooklyn was the Onc-eler from The Lorax

Kayla was Sally from Cars to match her boyfriend Lightning McQueen

They all had a great time trick or treatin' and then they came back to go through all their candy and then some of the younger kids went home while the seniors stayed and watched a scary movie.

Halloween 2023

The Saturday before Halloween we all went to a Halloween party.

Brooklyn came up with this clown costume all on her own and did her make up as well!

The day before her school had a Halloween dance and she used pretty much the same costume but was cupid.  Love her creativity!!!

Kayla rummaged through my costume box and put together her scary Dracula costume

Chris and were devils and I loved this poof skirt I found on Amazon.

We were going for a true Halloween vibe this year.

All night Brooklyn would make me laugh because I'd be talking to her and her face was just so sad all night.  It was hard not to stop laughing everytime I looked at her.

I was very happy my devil costume didn't scare away Marty McFly and I got to spend the night holding this cutie!

Halloween was a school day so we were all up early

Brooklyn put together this costume.  She was from the movie Men in Black.  Kayla was an angel but no pictures because she was gone by the time I got back from dropping off Brooklyn.

I set up a fun and festive table for our tomato soup and paninis for dinner.

Kayla is in the Best Buddies Club at her school where they help out with the special ed kids and organize activities for them.  They did crafts this day with them and she made sure to make her mum one as well.

Kayla got home from practice around 5:30, showered and then headed out to hang out with friends for the night.

Cinderella had to get to the ball so she didn't eat dinner with us.  Brooklyn didn't want to do anything except stay home so we had a cozy night in just the three of us.

Halloween Weekend

Halloween weekend has come and gone and it's almost Thanksgiving already but I couldn't not post all the fun we had.  The Saturday before we went to a dress up party.  Chris and I dressed up as mobsters and the girls were creepy sisters.

Brooklyn is so creative and came up with her costume hours before we left, she did the make up all on her own as well.

Our friends go all out for the party and have a haunted maze for us to go through when we arrive.

Their daughter always makes the cake

and this year they had a bartender and a taco man.

Always a good time!

Sunday it was pumpkin carving time

Kayla did not want to carve this year so dad saved the day and stepped in because Brooklyn was bummed and didn't want to carve alone.

I surprised the girls with Cookie Co. cookies to eat while we watched It's the Great Pumpkin.

Monday we were up and ready for the day.  The girls were off to school while I was prepping to have a house full of teens.

Kayla dressed up as a cowgirl for school and was too cute.

Brooklyn was a beautiful pirate.

Kayla was having some of her cross country teammates over for dinner, scary movies and trick or treating.  I made a big pot of chili beans, cornbread, hot dogs and put out treats to eat.

The girls ready for some Halloween fun!

Brooklyn hanging out with Chris and I out back while the house was full of Kayla's friends.

A picture of most of the kids before they left to go trick or treating.

They weren't out very long which was nice because we don't have a ton of candy here.

The girls had a great time and it was nice having them here at our home.
