Fall Mantel

 .
 >
I know I'm a little late to the party but we didn't actually start decorating for Fall until yesterday.
I finally this morning put together our Fall mantel which I'm sure will be tweaked here and there throughout the month.
I had a little help from Kayla, who is home sick today from school and lounging around watching cartoons with Brooklyn who is also sick.
Kayla informed me that I had to leave the broom up because it looked "so cute" and she picked out the birds for the window and told me where to put them.
I think she has great taste if I do say so myself ;)

I made the BOO sign last year when I last minute (a day before Halloween)  wanted a cute burlap sign like all the ones I had been seeing on Etsy.
I decided since I of course didn't have time to buy one I would just make one real quick.
So out came the burlap, twine, scissors and sharpie marker and it was done!
It fits perfect this year with our mantel decor.

The black birds came in a pack from The Dollar Store as did the broom a few years back.
I bought the ribbon from there too and wrapped it around the broom handle to fancy it up a bit.
I always find great items for crafts or decorating at The Dollar Store.

I have had these vintage french clay pots for a few years and I use them year round for everything!
I use them to plant flowers in, I have one in the kitchen holding my garlic, during Christmas you can plant bulbs in them and they're the perfect size to hold candy Easter eggs in the Spring.
I bought mine back when Heather Bullard had her own shop but you can now get them over here.
Well that's it for now I'll be back next week to show you the rest of our Fall decorations.
Right now I need to get back to my sick babies.

There isn't a thing in this vignette that I don't like! The window with the two crows is genius!
