A First

I have been working on cutting Brooklyn's hair for the past 4 or 5 months and she just wasn't having it.
Everytime I would ask her if I could cut it she would run away screaming NOOO
I knew this would not be something I could make her do and it's not that I didn't Love her hair it was just getting ridiculously too long and was a huge fight to try and brush every morning.
I often just threw it in a ponytail because she hated having a brush run through it.

Monday morning she came into my room and said she had hair in her mouth and while I got it out I told her we should cut her hair so it wouldn't be so long and always in her way.
(She often would get irritated while trying to eat breakfast because it would get in her face)
She agreed with me and I knew I finally had my chance to give it a much needed trim.

I had planned to cut it in the morning but got a text from a friend wanting us to meet her and her kids at the park so instead we went to the park.
By the time we got back it was lunch time and then naptime and I figured I had missed my opportunity to cut it but when she woke up from her nap I asked again.
She said no at first then after a few minutes she came up to me and said 'I want to cut my hair'

I jumped up and had the girls help me gather some items I would need and we got to cutting!

Of course I had to give her a lollipop because it was part of the deal and kept her still.
She was good the entire time and now has the cutest little "Brooklyn Bob"

The best part is that I thought all her adorable curls would be cut off as Kayla's were after her first haircut but they are still there and as cute as ever!

Now there is not as much as a fight brushing through her hair and it stays out of her way while eating her breakfast.
I was a bit sad to give her first haircut but got over it pretty quick once I saw how cute she looks with her new hairdo.

I love it! She looks so cute. I'm jealous you are able to do it yourself.

She looks so adorable. I can't believe you did it yourself. My girlies had lots of lollipops through their haircuts too, a mom's got to do what a mom's got to do :)

Great job, she looks adorable. My youngest needs her hair cut soooo bad! She is almost 9 and wants it cut but my husband loves her long blond hair and says no. It's to her waist! We have a neighborhood pool and it will be a nightmare this summer. I love what you did with your daughters hair, I think we will have to do the same!

SO cute Shannon!

And hat's off to you for doing such a good job.

So not only are you a great photographer, but you can cut hair too? What other talents do you have? ;)
