Last Weekend of September

Friday morning started with Kayla telling me after she was dressed and her hair was done that it was crazy hair and crazy sock day, kids are so wonderful.
Luckily we found some old soccer socks, found a clean skirt for her to wear and then threw in some piggy tails(she didn't want anything too embarrassing!) and we were set.

Friday night we met up with friends at a local park for their Oktoberfest festival.
They had a great area for the kids to play with bouncers, games, pony and carriage rides.
Kayla even got to try out some rock climbing where she got a bit frustrated when she realized she wasn't going to be able to make it all the way to the top.
They had dancing as well and Kayla was super excited to see her teacher especially when her teacher told her they were going to do the chicken dance together next time it was up.

Saturday after some lounging around and resting from the night before we walked over to the park by our house where they were having a 10th Anniversary party to celebrate our community.
They had bouncers, good food and live music so it was another fun night for the family.
The girls found friends from their school and had a great time running around playing.
Kayla wanted to get her face painted but Brooklyn didn't want to stop playing for it.
While we waited in line Kayla's friend kept trying to talk her into getting her face painted like a princess but Kayla was sure she wanted a clown face, so Kayla!

The party in the park was over at 7 so once it was time to go we grabbed some bags of popcorn and  walked back home.
I told the girls I wanted to get a picture of them and they so cutely grabbed each others hands all on their own and walked on.

Sunday we had a delicious breakfast, enjoyed some time around the house and then headed off to Ikea and out to dinner at a favorite restaurant, Northwoods Inn.

practicing her addition for her "time'd" test Monday

What a great way to end the month of September and get us ready for the upcoming holiday festivities.

Sounds like the perfect weekend. I love the face painting.

Loved the last minute crazy sock and hair day. Nicolas did that to me on Friday as well. He told me it was 50s day that morning and we had just moved the day before. He left to school a bit upset.
