O' Christmas Tree

With the forecast calling for rain all day Saturday and a day packed with activities on Sunday we knew we only had Friday night to head out to find the perfect Christmas tree.  Luckily hubby got off of work a little early so we got to the tree farm before dark in hopes to find our tree.  After an hour and a half of walking up and down each isle and me being completely over it we ended up agreeing on a tree we probably should have gotten when we first saw it an hour earlier!  The girls definitely didn't mind our time spent trying to find a tree, they were running around, hanging out by the fire pit and ignoring us as we kept repeating ourselves and telling them to stop running, hands to yourself, calm down etc oh and it was cold, 40 degrees cold but still fun.

Brooklyn found the tree she wanted right away and after an hour and a half of looking I was even considering it!

It was a good thing we got our tree Friday night because Saturday it poured!  Which did make it a perfect day to spend inside decorating the tree.  This year I told myself I would let the girls decorate the tree however they wanted and they did a great job.  I think I only moved maybe 3 ornaments.  With Christmas coming so fast this year I am not going to stress over the decorations or how the house looks I just want to enjoy this time and take it all in.  The girls are getting big way too fast and I want to be able to look back and remember them making a mess and singing the same two Christmas carols over and over again!

Brooklyn didn't want to put the star on the tree this year she was too scared to be held up that high so instead Kayla just did it.

It was nice hanging back and handing out the ornaments while they went to work.  It looks so pretty all lit up at night and the smell of course is amazing.  Now all that's left to do is wrap a lot of presents, bake lots of goodies and watch a million Christmas movies!!

And I love the story of how you picked it! I would do just that same thing!

Love the purple tree ;)

I have let the kids decorate the tree the past few years as well.

One of these years we will both eventually cave and get the coveted purple-flocked tree. lol

adorable pictures Shannon. I could not agree more. I've been adopting the same approach.
