Pumpkin Carving

Every year when we carve pumpkins the girls choose a spooky scene from the carving books for daddy to carve but this year I told them they are drawing their own face on the pumpkin and will carve it out themselves.  I will admit they were a bit sad at first when I told them no carving book just their own idea.  I wanted to keep it simple so they would actually carve it themselves and actually they enjoyed it much more being able to draw and carve it all on their own.   They did such a good job for their first time, all we had to do was carve out the mouths since those areas were a bit trickier than the rest.

I think their pumpkins turned out adorable and they are both so proud of their little creations!  I can't wait to put them on the porch tomorrow night.
