Halloween 2015

I really, really wish every Halloween would fall on a Saturday.  It was so nice having the entire day at home as a family and all getting ready together not having to rush from school or hope that hubby gets home early from work.   All of the family came over at 4 o'clock which gave us plenty of time to snack and talk before eating dinner and rushing out the door to trick or treat!

The girls asked all day when they could get into their costumes and finally around 3 it was time.  Brooklyn chose a pirate this year and Kayla a mermaid.  I will say as I think I do every year, I loved their choices!

Hubby and I went along with Brooklyn's pirate idea for our costumes as well.

It's so fun having all of the family over and seeing their fun costumes!

While the adults were enjoying appetizers and drinks the kids played and watched a couple Halloween movies.

These cousins loved watching "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown"

After we all finished eating tomato soup and macaroni and cheese we got ready to do some trick or treating.  I don't know if it was because it was a Saturday so people were at parties but there were much less kids out this year, meaning we have a TON of candy left over.  On the other hand we trick or treated longer than normal and the girls came home with a good amount to add to the too much we already had left.

I truly enjoyed walking around the neighborhood with the girls this year and it might be because it was much less crowded and easier to keep track of them running from house to house.   Once we all got back we ate dessert and the family trickled out, the girls, hubby and I plopped on the couches and finished watching "The Book of Life" and then called it a night.

Early Sunday morning was spent dumping out their bags of candy and making deals with each other trading this for that.  I eventually got all of the Halloween decorations put away and now I'm making mental notes on what to do next October in hopes that the month will not go by as fast!   Just another end of holiday prep to make sure the next year is just as good if not better.
