Our Polar Express Tradition

For the past four years now we have laid a golden polar express ticket on the girls pillows to find before they climb in for bed one night.  They now know that ticket means instead of going to bed we will be driving around enjoying yummy snacks and checking out Christmas lights.

Monday night was the night they found their tickets!

Brooklyn spotted it first and was squeeling with excitement, Kayla on the other hand had no idea what was going on until she say Brooklyn run into her room with THE ticket.  Then they both were excited!

After slippers are on and everyone is ready Daddy punches their tickets

Then the girls climb into their seats to see what snacks await!

We drive around for an hour or two and always head to a favorite spot where the lights change along with the lyrics/beats of the Christmas songs.  This is one of our favorite traditions and doesn't cost a thing, well except for the snacks and the Starbucks we stop and get for ourselves!!  The girls are so excited every single year and by the time we are home and pulling into the driveway the girls are fast asleep in their seats!
