Welcome 2017

New Years Eve I headed out to the supermarket to get some last minute details for our cozy night in together as a family.   I ended up running into our good friends who also had no plans for the night because they were leaving early the next morning to go to a football game and since we weren't doing anything either they invited us to meet them at Chilli's to grab some drinks and appetizers for a bit.   There son is good friends with the girls so I endded up bringing him back home with me to unload the groceries and suprise the girls.   We unpacked the car and then loaded back up to head to Chilli's

The kids chatted and did whatever kids do to entertain themselves while we enjoyed a few delicious drinks before deciding we were having too much fun and they should all come back to our house for a little while more.

Foosball, movies and running around the house wild was perfect for these three and by 8 o'clock our friends had left and it was just our family of four again.

The original plan of baking a cake and putting together an appetizer platter for us to snack on for the evening didn't quite happen but we opened a bottle of champagne and sparkling apple cider for the girls and watched a few New Years cartoons before losing Brooklyn around 10.

By 11 o'clock we were all headed to bed and nobody complained.  Even though it didn't all go down as planned it was the perfect way to spend New Years Eve and end our 2016.

Those impromptu get-togethers are the best!
I am glad you had a fun New Years, Shannon!
Do you get sad on New Years Eve?
I keep thinking that last week at this time it was Christmas Eve...
Anyway, Happy New Year to a beautiful family!!!
