Valentine's Day 2017

Our Valentine's day started off great!  I woke up to beautiful flowers and earrings from hubby and the girls were all smiles and ready to celebrate the day.

All their goodies set out and ready to take to school

Valentine's day lunches were made

and a few love day pictures taken before the school day

Brooklyn asked "Mommy, can I pose?"

When the girls got into the car they spotted a little Macy's box that daddy had surprised them with

They each got a pretty necklace he had picked out.  I didn't even know he had bought them anything so I was surprised as well.   They were very happy and I think they have the best daddy ever!

After I dropped off the girls at school I had a doctors appointment to get to and then I came home, ate some lunch before heading back to the school to help out with all their Valentine's day festivities.  This is where our day took a little turn.

I could tell something was wrong with Brooklyn and when I asked her what was wrong she just started crying and said her head and tummy hurt.  I took her outside and calmed her down, she felt very warm but I wasn't sure if it was because she had just come in from lunch and it was hot so I asked her if she wanted to go home and she said no.  I told her to go back to the class and drink all her water to cool her off and that's exactly what she did.   She finished decorating her cookies and after her water was all gone I felt her again and she definitely had a fever so I took her to the office for confirmation and then we headed back to her class to gather her things.  She was so upset that she was going home and that she was going to miss the rest of the day but she was just miserable.

I gave her some medicine which definitely helped but she still wasn't herself.

While waiting for Kayla to get out of class Brooklyn took a good nap which really helped because she felt a lot better after.

When Kayla got home she was excited to tell us all about her day and I was a little bummed I missed being there while it all happened.   Her best friend gave her a cute stuffed animal, a box of chocolates and a sweet best friends bracelet.

She was so excited about her gifts.

and then the girls dumped out all their Valentines and compared all their loot

We cuddled on the couch and read through all our Valentine books together

and then it was time to make dinner

When daddy got home the girls opened their gifts

They loved their new tablet covers

After dinner they added the sprinkles to the heart shaped cake

how many sprinkles can fit on a cake?

After all of the sprinkles were on we cut each a piece and then it was showers, pajamas and Charlie Brown Valentine before bed.   Even though our day took a little turn and Brooklyn came home sick we still ended up having a great day.  My favorite part was reading the Valentine books together with both of my girls!  I'm pretty sure I will not always have two little girls who want to cuddle on the couch and listen to their mom read picture books to them.

Shannon,
I am sorry that your baby girl wasn't feeling well.
But how good must she have felt to have her mommy there!
You always make holidays special for your beautiful girls.
My favorite part is the snuggling and cuddling too!
And...we watched Charlie Brown too. : )
Beautiful gifts from your man to his girls...
Have a cozy night, my friend.
Hope everyone is feeling good.

Shannon ~ you did an amazing job... everything is so so pretty. Ya know, I can kinda tell too from the pictures of her in her classroom that she's not feeling well. So glad you were there to notice. The daddy surprise... the best!!!
