Spring Break Camping ~ Part 2

Everyone slept in until past eight on this morning and it was glorious!  I woke up and lit a candle and got the coffee ready while Kayla read on the top bunk and Brooklyn was still fast asleep below.

Later on we all drove over to OstrichLand U.S.A.  The girls were so excited for this and could not wait to feed the Ostriches and Emus.

They were laughing and smiling the entire time!

The Ostriches were crazy and overly excited to eat.  The girls were holding the food so tightly because they were acting like they had never eaten before.   They also aren't very nice either, I had to make sure we all kept a safe distance because they would reach over and try and nip at you if they could.

They've got to be one of the strangest looking animals, right?

The emus were a whole lot nicer and a lot more mellow.  It was safe to stand close to them and pet them.

Brooklyn was being Brooklyn and started dancing in front of an ostrich and we were all laughing because it looked like it was trying to follow along.

This was such a fun spot for the girls and I highly recommend making a stop here if you are ever in Solvang.

After OstrichLand we headed to Los Olivos to do a little shopping and some wine tasting.   Brooklyn of course enjoyed shopping and trying on some hats.

At the tasting rooms hubby and I tried some wines while the girls played card games.   They made sure to pack some things to keep them happy and entertained for this part of the day.

Our next winery had cupcakes and I knew this spot would be perfect because the girls would love the cupcakes.

They pair the flavors with the wines but we let the girls enjoy the treats while we stuck with the wine.  Of course they were happy about that.

Hubby and I had been here before and it's one of our favorites because of the grounds.  We had the whole back area to ourselves and the girls played together the entire time while we relaxed and enjoyed our tastings.

There's a fun little photo booth that we had to stop to take a picture in before we headed on.

We ended up walking around the cute town a little more and stopped in at the garden center that had this huge chair.   A lady said she'd take our picture if we would like and since I never say no to a family picture we all climbed onto the huge chair.  It was a whole lot easier getting into than getting out of, that's for sure.

We eventually headed back but not before stopping at a park we had passed by on the way out.  Brooklyn begged to stop so they could check it out so they played here for a little while hubby and I ate some snacks we had packed.

Back at the campgrounds the girls swam until dinnertime and then enjoyed drumsticks for dessert.

Eventually we were all cuddled up in our bed together.  Kayla and I read, Brooklyn snuggled and hubby was watching a tv show on his ipad.  I mean if that isn't the perfect way to settle in for the night I don't know what is!
