Spring Break Camping ~ Part 3

On our last full day of camping we decided to drive over to Gaviota and do some hiking.   The night before we found some information on the Gaviota Wind Tunnels and thought it would be fun to go check them out.

When we parked we saw that we could climb up a hill and get a better look at the ocean so we did and then walked along the tracks for a little ways.

We took a few pictures of the pretty views and then we were on our way to hike up to the wind tunnels

There were so many pretty flowers and thankfully no mountain lions!

See the bridge near the water?  That was our starting point.   This hike was a lot longer and tougher than we had thought, a whole lot of uphill.

Brooklyn wasn't a happy hiker this time and she's usually the one that enjoys our hikes.

But the wind tunnels were pretty neat!

The views were even better!

When we finally made it to the top she was in a much better mood.

It was very steep coming down

We took some time about half way down the mountain to relax and enjoy the views.

Back down at the bottom of the mountain we found a few bunnies waiting for us.  We were happy to be back down and couldn't wait to get back to the trailer and take showers.

We went out to dinner that night at the Solvang Brewing Co. and enjoyed some delicious burgers.

When I try to get a picture of Kayla this is what I get

This was delicious!

After dinner we went back to the campsite to enjoy our last night before heading home the next morning.

I love this picture!

Brooklyn rode her back around

while Kayla entertained herself and us with some jokes.

The next morning it was wet and drizzly so we got everything packed up pretty quickly so we could head home before it started pouring.   We all had a great time on this trip.  There was so much to do and see and the campground was very nice!
