July Recap

August 1st is just hours away and one week from today the girls will be back in school.   This Summer flew by but we had so much fun.   I seem to jam pack our Summers with trips and camping and this year it seemed we didn't have as much home time as I may have liked.  Maybe next year I'll slow it down a bit but I can't guarantee I'm gonna want to miss out on a camping trip!

Most of our July seemed to be us out and about running errands to get ready for our next destination.  We stopped in at Target and Brooklyn immediately told me I needed a picture of the cool car.   I thought she matched the era too perfectly with her headband not to include her next to it.

Thank goodness we made a few trips to the local library.  It just wouldn't be Summer without library visits and lots of books.

The girls watched the Women's World Cup and were super excited for the U.S. Women's team!!

The girls enjoyed a morning making slime which kept them busy playing with for a few hours.

While I managed to clean the house and do lots of laundry

This poor kitty was not happy with all of our nights away so extra cuddles and love for him when we were home.

Brooklyn threw a barbie fashion show one morning where hubby and I had to rate each outfit to pick a winner in the end

Kayla created a rubber ducky nest for her new babies she won at a fun spot she went to when both her and Brooklyn stayed with their grandparents for a few nights.

We spent one of our Saturday afternoons which led into the evening swimming at a friends house.

We all had a great time and it was a perfect Summer night.

A few slow mornings spent with coffee and my kitty while Kayla and I caught up on the series 'Once Upon a Time'

Hot Summer days call for water gun fights.

The girls and I went out to lunch and then did some back to school shopping.

Kayla headed off to a sleepover at her friends

while Brooklyn enjoyed being an only child.  She was happy to choose sushi for her dinner choice followed by some frozen yogurt for dessert

but she was happy to have her big sister back!

Brooklyn loves to paint so we had to fit in some painting this Summer.

Brooklyn also loves to match her sister (Kayla not so much) so Brooklyn waits to see what Kayla puts on for the day and then she will sometimes try to find a similar outfit.  This day it just so happened that Brooklyn had the same shirt and hat to match her big sister!

It's also fun to annoy her big sister too.

We have had maybe two movie nights all Summer, we've been gone so much.   I decided to make a yummy dessert for us and the girls were waiting all day to eat these pudding parfaits.

July was not very hot compared to past Summers so it was nice to eat outside now and then.   This particular morning we enjoyed breakfast on the back patio together.

We celebrated my niece's 3rd birthday

There was an ice cream truck instead of cake which was super fun and original!

and I think it just might have been the girls first ice cream truck experience!

Right after that party we headed to another party, this one was for one of Brooklyn's friends.

A Starbucks Frappuccino is a must atleast once during Summertime.

We may not have been home much but on the days we were you would've found these two playing Calico Critters.  My room and both of their rooms were taken over and made into little towns that they played with all day long with of course a break to read their book, play on their tablet for a bit and jump on the trampoline.

I'm really going to miss having these two with me everyday!  They are such a joy to be with all day long.
