Crystal Cove Camping

It was so nice to be back at the beach.  We were a little worried that our beach camping trips would not happen this Summer but luckily the state parks opened just in time for us to enjoy.  We camped last Summer at Crystal Cove and loved it, the water is so clear and the camp sites are nice and private.  It is very hard to get camping here so we were thrilled to find openings for this Summer.   We were set up and down at the water as soon as our campsite was set up.  We weren't about to waste any time away from the sand.

The next morning we woke up and while we were eating breakfast Kayla mentioned an ant was crawling on her, minutes later we found many more of their friends trailing along the seat.   We spent most of the morning trying to get rid of the little pains and realized they were climbing onto the trailer from the tree branches that were touching the trailer so we completely moved the trailer over a few feet to get them away.  It wasn't the best morning but it was the first time we have ever had to deal with ants inside our trailer in all our six years of camping so not too bad.

The ants were all gone and the trailer was all cleaned up so it was time to head back down to the water for the day.

I was taking pictures of the girls when the wave came and surprised them both almost knocking them over.

Kayla assembling her breakfast burrito.

We played UNO after we ate

This bird kept flying up to the window and knocking on it over and over again.  He kept us entertained for quite awhile.

The girls love riding in the bed of the truck.   We have to take a short drive down to the beach so we let them sit back there and they look forward to it every time.

beer on the beach.....Yes, please!

Chris and Kayla were out far swimming in the waves and Brooklyn wanted to go out with them so badly.  She kept trying but would get scared and come back.  I went down and hung out with her in the shallow waves and I could see the tears about to come.   I asked her if she wanted to go back up to the beach and make jewelry with the seagrass and she said yes.  She braided herself a necklace and we made anklets and she was back to her happy self again.   Ever since she got stung by a stingray she's been a lot more timid about going out far into the water.

This seagull was really hoping Brooklyn was going to share her lunch

I love listening to these two chatting about whatever weird topic they decide to discuss.  They were up and eating breakfast together on the last day and Chris and I were still in bed just listening to them.

Before we headed home we took a walk over to the tide pools to explore a bit.

I didn't want to leave, it was so beautiful!!

Obviously it was a good trip!

I took a few pictures of the inside of our trailer before we loaded it all up for those of you that were curious to see what it looks like inside.

To the left of the picture below are the girls bunkbeds and bathroom.   This trailer is the perfect size for our family of four and we have had so much fun in it the last few years.
