October Weekend

It was a wonderful three day weekend and the weather was finally cooler than the ninety degrees we had been having.   Friday morning was even overcast which made it the perfect morning to snuggle in my spot with coffee.

Friday night we drove out to Palm Springs and dropped the girls off at their grandpa's house and we finally had a date night!   We ate at an Italian spot we had ate at years ago and it was delicious and so nice to be out in general.

After dinner we had dessert and a couple more drinks.   We had the best server ever who kept giving us samples of fun cocktails to try!

Saturday we spent most of the day watching Halloween movies.

I enjoyed looking through a magazine

and watering my flowers and puttering around the yard.  I have really enjoyed planting flowers and trying out new plants in our yard since Covid began.

This cat only likes being held by the girls which makes me very jealous!

Saturday night we went over to our friends house.  The kids swam and played on a waterslide while we caught up, ate a delicious dinner and then enjoyed the jacuzzi.

Sunday morning Chris and I went on a walk and then came home and did pretty much nothing all day.   We watched scary movies, without Brooklyn because she declared she does not like them.   I had chili slow cooking all day and while we ate dinner we all watched the new cartoon Adams Family movie which was pretty cute.

The other night when we ate at our friends we had steaks and we had brought home leftovers and decided to have steak and eggs for breakfast Monday morning.

We all went on a walk/bike ride after our big breakfast and then Chris told the girls they needed to play outside while he did yardwork.  Kayla had an assignment that she needed to write words of encouragement with chalk outside so she worked on that while Brooklyn said she wanted to mow the lawn.  She helped with the front yard but said it was way too much work to help with the backyard.

After they were all done I told them they could grab an ice cream from the freezer.

After that they were either reading, writing, listening to music or playing with legos.

The three day weekend ended with sushi for dinner!
