May Recap

We were still home all of May and to be honest weeks and days sort of just blended together by now.   The girls were still doing schoolwork from home but I for the most part stopped making them work on schoolwork I was teaching and told them they could just focus on what their teachers were assigning.  Every Thursday though we would take turns picking something from National Geographic and cuddle up on the couch and learn something new.  Brooklyn chose to learn about the Bermuda Triangle one day and Kayla chose Amelia Earhart.

Brooklyn's teacher did a porch drop off of all of her desk items along with an award for her.  She was awarded Guardian of the Galaxy for her kindness and always being a great role model to others.

The girls have kept themselves so entertained through all of this.  Brooklyn wanted to sleep in a fort she built one night.  She had the inside strung with twinkle lights and ready for a cozy night.  She said she made it half way through the night and then climbed back into her bed.

Warm weather means time to cut this cuties hair.  She always wants it short in the Summer months.  Her hair had gotten so long and I was sad to cut it but I'm loving the short hair on her.

Brooklyn was happy to show up to her class zoom meeting because it involved art and she learned how to draw a bird.

The Air Force did a flyover to all of the local hospitals and we were lucky enough to be near one so we got to see the planes from our backyard.

Brooklyn was sad that Kayla got tired of playing calico critters and decided she didn't want to play anymore that day so to cheer her up Kayla made her sister a chocolate milk.

Chips and guacamole with an early cocktail to start off the weekend is a perk of being home all day, everyday.

Lots of reading going on over here still.

Spoiled kitties get to take turns coming outside with us now and then.

May is always one of our busiest months with Mothers day and lots of birthdays.

We celebrated one grandpas birthday on a Saturday

and the other grandpas birthday on Sunday

Whenever we swim these two always come and hang on me and want me to hold them.   It's like I still have little babies that need to be held.

Kayla insisted I hold her just like this for a picture

Had to post Brooklyn in this super cute swimsuit from Justice.  She came out all accessorized and ready for a swim day in Palm Springs.

We love watching The Masked Singer together and for the season finale we gathered around to watch with an appetizer night for dinner.  This is such a fun family show for us.

With the weather getting warmer we take our walks early now or wait until after dinner but we are still making sure we are out and about throughout the week.

I still make sure I get my slow mornings with a cozy blanket and my coffee though

Brooklyn with her creative nail art.  This time it was watermelon themed.

So I've been told that my dining room most likely will look like this until 2021.   Husbands work is not in any hurry to have them back in the office so he'll be working from home for quite awhile.  I'm not the happiest about it but I'm hoping it's not true and they can go back sooner rather than later.

I do love having us all home together though.

May sure was a better month for us than April was.  We were finally able to go out a bit more and enjoyed time with family.  The past 11 weeks are definitely going to be remembered and thank gosh Summer is just about here.  We are definitely ready to get out and hopefully camp and go to new places.

Stay Home ~ Week 8

Fresh flowers weekly whether they are from our yard or the grocery store are a must.

I got an email from Brooklyn's principle last week asking if she would like to participate in making a short video about the teachers at her school to be shared with the district for Teacher Appreciation.   Of course she said yes!

She got all dressed in a pretty sundress and a flower in her hair ready to record her video.

I'm going through so many more candles now that we are home all day and I'm constantly burning them.

Our cat June is not usually taken outside because she is a little wild and I'm afraid she'll take off but Kayla had her out with her for quite some time on Cinco de Mayo.

While she was taking care of the kitty I was taking care of my margarita

along with the chips and guacamole!

Husband was over here listening to the final count to find out if his company would be going UNION, which he did not want to happen.   After all day of the stress it ended in his favor and they would not be going UNION.

These cats are comfy wherever they end up

Kayla asked if she should learn Spanish and I told her why not??!!  She's been practicing everyday.   Brooklyn joins her now and then except she's learning Italian.

Our 13 year old received her very first blue Tiffany box!   Her grandparents got her the sweetest little heart necklace.

My white roses all opened up this week, just in time for Mother's day!

Another kitty enjoying the great outdoors

A quick early run to the grocery store and then back home to enjoy another cup of coffee.  I can't believe we are nearing the middle of May already.  Homeschooling will be over soon and then it will be Summer, just wondering if we'll actually be able to do anything?

Stay Home ~ Week 7

Another week at home but atleast now my roses are in bloom and I can bring fresh cut flowers in whenever I want!

Brooklyn had been wanting to color the ends of her hair for months and I couldn't think of a better time to do this than now so here she is waiting for her new red hair to set.

It came out cute and has faded nicely in the past week so it's not even as noticeable.

This kitty is an indoor kitty but loves to be outside and he actually stays on our lap and listens when we tell him to stay.

We spent every morning outside last weekend.   We enjoyed coffee for hours and then daddy and the girls even played cards.  The weather was so perfect, unfortunately it's been much too hot since to be outside even early.

Kayla was up next to color her hair, she chose turquoise.   I was nervous to do her hair because it's short and not as easy to just cut it shorter if it looked bad.  It came out cute as well and has also since faded which now looks more like a green than the bright blue

The plastic kiddie pool has been pulled out and got a lot of use.

I bought a huge pack of Popsicles and the girls were excited to try out all the flavors.   Ice cold treats are a good way to keep these two playing outdoors all day.

 Yay for burger night!

The girls spent some time playing on Instagram using all of the silly filters.  They had us cracking up for quite awhile with all their shenanigans.

A fun s'mores night

It was 9am and Brooklyn walked out in her swimsuit ready to play in the pool

No caption needed! lol

Mommy's little buddy

Always sharing her lizards that she catches

Loving all the warm weather dinners we are eating lately.

Sure you all just woke up but feel free to take a morning nap!

I will definitely miss our bike rides/walks we go on all the time once things get back to normal.

The cats loved having all the covers off of the couches and the cushions thrown around they had lots of fun hiding places for the day.

We met up with family to celebrate a 93rd birthday for Chris's Noni.

It was sad having to be so far away and seeing her sister just wanting to give her a hug with tears in her eyes.

Another day means another family walk.
