February had our calendar packed full of activities.
Brooklyn's school had bring anything other than a backpack day and although she was bummed I wouldn't get her an actual shopping cart she instead settled for a cat carrier
and added a stuffed animal cat
I worked a lot this month and didn't hate it one bit.
I decorated the house for Valentine's day
baked yummy cookies
made some Valentine's for my favorite preschoolers
and came home with lots of sweet treats from them and their families.
Chris and I took a Friday to pick up our wine shipment from our favorite winery and then enjoyed a delicious lunch and a bit of shopping.
Brooklyn had a birthday party at a nearby amusement park so we told Kayla she could bring a friend to hang out with while we were there.
This is one of Brooklyn's new friends she met this year in middle school. Brooklyn had already told me how they had met beforehand but when this young ladies mother reached out to me to tell me how special my daughter was to her daughter and how she helped her through a hard time I was even more proud of her. This new friend was having problems with her old friends being mean to her and when Brooklyn found her crying in the locker room all alone she went up to her and asked her if she was alright. The next day Brooklyn made sure to find her and asked her if she wanted to sit with her and her friends at lunch and since then they have become super close friends.
Now this sweet girl has a whole new group of friends that adore her all because Brooklyn took a moment to be kind to someone. Oh and don't let those roller-skates fool you, Brooklyn never actually roller-skated because she was too scared. Her friends all tried to get her out there but it never happened. Breaking her wrist last year ice skating might of had something to do with that!
I love the way the morning light shines in the house this time of year.
Off to drop off my high schooler
Kayla is taking a creative writing class this year and has to write a 60 page story. She decided she was going to write about our trip to Texas we just took a few weeks ago. I'm pretty excited to have it when she's all done. She has written a couple of things about our traditions, camping trips etc. and I love reading things we do through her point of view.
This year has already been the windiest year I think we've ever had. Everyday in February was windy except for maybe 5!
The days that weren't windy I made sure to enjoy like having my breakfast on the patio.
Since Kayla's knee surgery she had been counting down the days until she could run again. Finally this month she was cleared to start running again. She has been running a mile a few times a week and is excited to slowly get back to running more with her dad.
We celebrated Brooklyn's besties birthday this month.
Besties since 2nd grade!
We gathered at a friends house to watch the super bowl and eat lots of food.
I got my dog fix in while we were there as well.
Enjoyed a few rainy days this month
When I told the girls to get what they wanted to pack for our upcoming vacation Brooklyn went as far as labeling everything for me.
These two missed us a lot while we were gone.
We wrapped up the month with dinner at my in laws
My niece and nephew were giving tattoos to us all
I enjoyed lots of snuggles with this little chunk
we ate lots of food
and played games before it was time to head home.
