A Room of Her Own Part II

Last week I shared Brooklyn's room and as promised here is a peak into Kayla's room.
Hello Kitty makes an appearance throughout her room since she just had her 5th Birthday party and that was theme.

She loves books so just about all of the books that the girls have are stored in her bookcase

"You are my Sunshine" is a song I always sang to her as a baby and it still works whenever she is sick, hurt or really upset.
Now whenever I see anything with those words on it I have to buy it for my little Sunshine ;)

After switching the girls back into their own rooms I bought Kayla a new duvet set from Target.
It's from the Shabby Chic line and is so cute.
I love that it is reversible as well.

Her room is slowly transitioning from a little girls room to a big girls room.
She still has a lot of decor in here that she had when she was a baby.
I'm tempted to change it all out but figure in the next few years or so she is going to have a huge say in how she wants it decorated so I am just leaving most of it as is and just changing little things here and there.

Both of the girls share this table, they like to play school a lot.
Kayla's the teacher and Brooklyn's the 'kid'
It's the perfect little spot for them to color or read books.

A few of you commented or emailed me about how clean Brooklyn's room was.
Both of these rooms were clean because I was taking pictures but otherwise always have toys everywhere.
What you don't see is the train tracks in the corner of Kayla's room underneath the chalkboard or all of the stuffed animals I took off of her bed and shoved in the corner so I could actually see her bedding.
My girls love to play and make messes just like any other little kid and honestly I don't mind it at all but every once in awhile it is nice to focus on how cute the rooms are when they are actually all cleaned up!

Hello sweet Shannon, I visited your whole house tour over at South Shore Mommy. Gotta say I love your house. It's everything I love and I have to tell you I'm seriously considering that Silver Sage color for my living area. I want to paint our bannister from Oak to white and that Silver sage on the walls would be gorgeous, don't you think? Have a great weekend. xoxox
