Mommy and Me Journal

A few weeks ago I was perusing around on Pinterest when I came across something that said "Mama and Me Journal" I clicked on it to see what it was all about and instantly decided I would definitely be doing this with my girls.
I thought it would be perfect to give to Kayla after her first day of school so on my next trip to the grocery store I picked up a composition notebook and some bright stickers to spell out Mommy and Me.

Once I was all done with the front I opened up the book and wrote my note to Kayla.
I basically used the same intro that the other moms used to start off the journal so feel free to copy it for yours as well.

I wasn't too sure if Kayla was going to be excited about our journal or just toss it aside but right after she finished reading it she jumped up and gave me the biggest hug and said thank you.
She said she really liked the idea and so far she really gets excited to see the book on her bed and writes me back right away.
Of course right now she just writes short little paragraphs but I'm hoping that this will be a great way for us to communicate sometimes when things get awkward or tough maybe in the future.

Right now Brooklyn is still too little to do this with but I will be giving her a book too once she is older.
This is such a great idea and a good way to stay close with your daughter or even your son!
It will be so neat to look back on one day when they are all grown up.

What a great idea and just think how fun it will be in years to come to reread all entries.
