Turning Six on Tuesday

Brooklyn's actual birthday fell on a Tuesday this year which is the exact day 6 years ago she was born on, the Tuesday after Labor day!

She woke up to balloons and streamers hanging from her doorway and many Happy Birthday greetings from her sister and I.

Since she was going to be at school I dropped in with some cupcakes and juices for all her school friends.  Her teacher sang Happy Birthday and then gave her six birthday spankings.

When she got picked up from school there was a fun magazine waiting for her in the car that we later read and did some of the activities while waiting to pick up Kayla from school.

She ate some lunch and then spent her afternoon putting together Legos

and taking phone calls from everyone who called to wish her a Happy Birthday

I set the table extra pretty for birthday dinner where she requested homemade macaroni and cheese

After dinner was done it was time for the presents to be opened.   A few weeks ago Brooklyn specifically requested that I hide all her presents and then she would look for them.  So that is just what I did and I have a feeling this will be the way both of the girls will want their birthday presents from here on out.  They both thought it was so fun.

She found a rainbow loom ring her sister made her right away!

The butterfly was something she really wanted and it did not disappoint!

A fun Shopkins game for the family or just the girls to play.

Since she wants to collect all things leopard we thought her own leopard blanket would be perfect for the upcoming cold months!

And I know we have way too many stuffed animals but I couldn't resist this adorable kitty to add to her collection.

We had a huge storm roll in while we were eating dinner that brought lightening, lots of rain and thunder and after all the presents were opened we found a beautiful rainbow outside.

Chocolate milkshakes for dessert and Brooklyn's 6th Birthday was a wrap.  I'm pretty sure it was a good one this year!
