Weekly Update

Thank goodness it's Friday!
It's been a good week but I'm always ready for the weekend especially when Saturday mornings soccer games are later than 8 or 9am and I can sleep in!  This week went by pretty fast and was nice due to the fact that we had rain all day on Tuesday meaning practice was canceled and then Wednesday night hubby and I had a date night.  Yes a middle of the week date night is better than no date night at all!!

I'm so proud of this little cutie!
Today at pick up her teacher asked myself and 3 other parents if she could speak to us and we all said sure and then looked at each other wondering what was going on.  All of the other parents just so happen to be the parents of Brooklyn's friends that she hangs out with the most so we wondered if there was a problem or something but as it turns out they are all just a bit ahead of the others with their reading!!  She said she had spent the week testing all the kids and our four are farther along than the others so she is working really hard to make sure she gives them harder words to work with so they don't get bored.  We are so happy Brooklyn is picking up reading and seems to enjoy it just as much as Kayla does.  I would be lying if I said I was worried she wouldn't excel as much as Kayla cuz that girl is a hard act to follow but Brooklyn is doing so well I don't have a thing to worry about.  She is loving school and is happy to come home everyday and work on her homework!

decked out from head to toe in blue for blue day!

This week at school is the book fair and Kayla stopped in at lunch to take a look to see if she wanted to buy anything.  She took her own money and came home from school with some adorable eraser figurines that the girls love to collect.  She bought a pack of two for herself and even bought Brooklyn a pack as well.  Brooklyn was beyond excited as you can see.  Such sweet sisters!

Kayla is doing great at school and I haven't had any issues with her complaining about going for the past few weeks!   She is also one of the top readers in her class and has been very excited to be learning cursive this year.  Her cursive is so pretty too, much better than mine that's for sure!
