2016 So Far

On New Year's Day we had my parents, brother, sister in law and nephew over to celebrate the New Year.  We didn't get to see them on Christmas day so last minute we decided New Year's would be a good time to make some happy memories after the bummer of Christmas we had!

Before everyone arrived the girls filled out these fun year in review sheets.  Brooklyn's best memory was playing the Bean Boozled game the night before and Kayla's was playing in the ocean at Silver Strands and the Grand Canyon trip.

Well maybe Brooklyn did more than Kayla, Kayla was worried about her room getting messed up.  Brooklyn didn't mind though, they played outside together despite the cold and sang karaoke.

The girls wanted to play Bean Boozled again with the family, hubby and I opted out!

It was so nice to get together for the day, a great way to welcome in the New Year

The very next day was my birthday!  

After my slow and relaxing morning we all got dressed, dropped the girls off at my parents and hubby and I drove to Balboa Island to enjoy a relaxing day of shopping, dining and walking around the beautiful island.  It was a perfect way to spend my day!

Sunday the girls did some practice for softball which is going to start next month.

Brooklyn was already most improved, she could actually throw the ball well this year so that is exciting.  Looking forward to seeing how the season goes but not looking forward to being away from my home every single night and I know it's going to be a cold season!!

Unfortunately after two weeks of lazy mornings and a few pajama days school had to start again.  It was so hard to get out of bed and was terrbily cold Monday morning as well.  We have made it half way through the week and are doing good getting back to reality but definitely looking forward to the weekend!
