New Years Eve

Happy 2019!

We celebrated New Year's Eve at home as we usually do.   The girls found some nice dresses in their closets and came out ready to party!

A nice bottle of champagne for mommy and daddy

and a whole lot of appetizers for us all to enjoy

After dinner we played games.  The girls received a new game called, The Shadows from Santa this year so they were excited to show us how to play.   You play in complete darkness and use a tiny lantern that the game comes with.  It was a fun game but playing in the dark makes it way to hard for my old eyes to see!

After a few rounds of The Shadows and Kayla snuck in a quick shower we ate dessert and played UNO.

Kayla had a line up of games for us to play, she wanted to make sure we didn't get tired because her goal was to make it til midnight.

As you can see Brooklyn had a different goal.  She was out by 10:45.  I took her to bed around 11:30 and decided that I would be much happier going to sleep as well so only Kayla and daddy stayed up til midnight which was fine with me.  Sleeping sounded much better than staying up that extra 30 minutes.

It was a nice, cozy New Years for us.   I always enjoy laying low on this night.  After all of the work that Christmas day brings I love just being home and relaxing for the rest of our Winter break.

Those blue dresses are stunning! What a gorgeous color. We lay low on New Years too, just family at home. We clink our glasses at midnight and are usually in bed by 12:30. Happy New Year!
