St Patrick's Day

Having St. Patrick's day on a Sunday was perfect.  I wish all holidays would happen over a weekend.  We had so much time to just relax and celebrate the day.

Saturday night before bed Brooklyn wanted to set up a trap to try and catch a leprechaun.  Unfortunately it did not work and we didn't find a leprechaun in the morning.

We did wake up to some delicious green pancakes and sausage that hubby made

and Brooklyn was all ready to celebrate the green!  She was dressed and ready to have fun before we even got out of bed.

The girls fit in some reading and as you can see Kayla opted to stay in her pajamas all day because, Sunday.

In the afternoon I made some fresh guacamole and the girls drank sprite/ginger ale while hubby and I enjoyed a glass of ginger ale and Jameson.

The fur animals enjoyed their Sunday festivities of sleeping all day.

This year for dinner I made Irish Beef Stew.  The past few years it was corned beef and cabbage but one of the girls likes it and one doesn't so I decided all of that work just isn't worth it if there is complaining involved so we tried this meal instead.  It was definitely a hit and both of the girls asked to have this again next year for our St. Patrick's day dinner.

Dessert was simple and just the way I like it after cooking dinner.   Some mint chocolate chip with some toppings and everyone was happy.

It was a very simple day of celebrating for us and the perfect way to head into Spring.
